July Updates: New Site Pages, a Podcast, and...A Novel?!

(I got new glasses! This is not my best picture, though...)

It's been since March of this year since the last time I posted anything on my website. Let me change that. There have been quite a few developments in my life over the previous few months, so here are some quick updates.

  • I started a podcast with some friends! The show is called Old Games in the Basement (And Other Ramblings From Madmen). It's primarily a retro game (mostly video games) podcast, but we also incorporate elements of sketch comedy and general talk among friends. Episodes can be watched in any order, so I recommend listening to one of the newer episodes where we start to get a bit more used to the format! Check it out here! We pre-load each episode to come out the first Friday of every month at 8 pm EST. Our latest episode, Rhythm Games, will be coming out TODAY! We will be expanding beyond the podcast soon, so keep an eye on the website and social media for updates! (Disclaimer: There is quite a bit of crude content in our show, and we can be a bit unhinged. You've been warned!)

  • I've added two new pages to my website: Books and Videos. The Books page will show some of the works I've written and am working on (more on this in a moment). The Videos page has some of the YouTube videos I've been in. I will be expanding this page to include some of Old Games in the Basement's videos once we have some of these uploaded.

  • I have started working on a novel I hope to have published 'in the next couple of years or so'. I've wanted to do this specific story for a while and decided to just go for it. The plot outline and notes for the story have been written, so now I'm just filling in the pieces. As a result, the web novel I was working on has been put on indefinite hold. I may or may not ever go back to this. I hope this doesn't tremendously disappoint anyone!

  • On a slightly more personal note, I decided to return to college to obtain my BBA. I finished the summer semester early and did quite well. Since I have prior classwork/degrees, I will not need to take four full years of college.

  • I have an evergreen blog post that is largely finished. This will be my longest one to date. I've been researching the topic for my own benefit and have decided to blog post-ify it to pass on what I've learned. I hope to have this done by the end of the month.

If you've read this far, I thank you. As you can see, I have been busy lately, both in and outside work. I will aim to have at least one more check-in before the year ends and the blog post I promised. Until then, stay cool this summer season!
